We listened to our community, analyzed unbiased surveys and healthcare needs assessments, then initiated the expansion of our services, providing further access to affordable health care.

In June, our brand-new Shelby location opened. Where we have the capacity and flexibility to grow. Our new location provides a One-Stop-Shop convenience. Patients have primary care, behavioral health, optometry, pharmacy, and many other services in one location.

In July, we extended hours and added Urgent Care Services, 8am to 7:30pm Monday-Friday and Saturdays 9am -5pm. Walk-ins welcome!

In addition, individuals now have the option of choosing affordable, quality, timely, point of care, Lab services and Radiology services with Board Certified reads. The addition of these two services greatly improved our patient care coordination. As a Non-Profit FQHC we can provide these services at a fraction of the cost that patients have experienced at other locations. Rest assured, the new lab machines are fast and efficient, and our radiology equipment is state of the art being one (1) of sixteen (16) in the nation. We extend our services to outside providers. Outside providers who are interested in utilizing our services can call our main number and ask for Jamie.

Our School Based Health Center (SBHC) is now open! Located in the white trailer between Shelby Elementary School and the High School gym. Monday through Thursday 8-430pm and Fridays 8-3:30pm, we offer primary care, psychiatric medication management, and behavioral health services.

Our focus is students but are also happy to see school staff and parents at this location. Please call our main number 406-434-3100 to schedule an appointment (walk-in services may be available in the future).

Our Midwifery Service is a crucial part of our community. Babies are not delivered at the Shelby, Conrad, Cut Bank, or Chester Critical Access Hospitals. Our Certified Nurse Midwife bridges our soon-to-be moms with Benefis Labor and Delivery and Benefis OB/GYN. She provides obstetric exams, fetal monitoring, personalized delivery plans, women’s health, and lactation consultations at our Shelby location. In addition, she delivers babies at Benefis.

Podiatry is one of our popular gems. Our Board-Certified Podiatrist is an American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery Diplomate, Board Certified in Foot and Ankle Surgery. In addition to providing conservative and surgical services, he provides; diabetic foot care, sports medicine, athletic injury prevention/treatment; custom orthotics, brace and shoe gear modifications, and other services.

Marias Healthcare has several visiting specialists from within our geographic region that provide their services conveniently right here at home. Currently providing; Cardiology, Oncology, Orthopedics, Stress Tests, Colonoscopies, and Ultrasound. We foresee our visiting specialists’ options expanding as more and more patients ask for closer to home specialty care. We understand that so many of our patients have travel limitations and we will continue to work towards reducing and removing barriers to care.

Feel free to contact me if you have any questions about Marias Healthcare and any of the services provided. This is home and we are here for our communities.

In this week’s feature, I selected Marias Healthcare.  They are hosting a Fall Health Fair on Oct 5, 9 am to 7 pm at their location here in Shelby.  Thought it would be a good time to feature them and help advertise the event as well.  Go out and check out what they all have to offer at this health fair!!  Just as I mentioned in last week's feature about Northtown Drug.  Healthcare is an important part of any community and we are blessed to have Marias Healthcare in our community providing the wide range of services that they do offer.  The new facility they have now is amazing!  Jamie Brownell offered the Chamber Members this spring a tour of the building, it was amazing to see it at that point in time, then to only see it once it was all completed made me realize even more so how great of a set up the new facility really is!!  I get to go in to chat with Jamie, Rikki, or Carlee periodically on Chamber business, always treated great from the time I walk in talking with the front desk to the other staff, and those individuals each time.

Since I moved to Shelby, I did actually have to use Marias Healthcare services 1 time.  I was sicker than sick could be over New Years into the next week (and no, was not self induced either!).  I was supposed to start working the Chamber job that first week of January, couldn't even get out of bed for those first few days, let alone go to work at a new job.  Great way to start the job, and great way to remember my first few days actually living in Shelby!!  I made an appointment, got some med’s, and felt better shortly after that visit!  Thank You, and Thank you for your continued support towards the Chamber in being an active member and the strong support towards the functions/events that the Chamber provides!!
